INGREDIENTS:
- Chicken pieces - 1/2 kilogram
- Chopped onion - 2
- Chopped tomato - 2
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Yogurt (curd) - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cinnamon stick - 1 small piece
- Clove - 1
- Bay leaf - 1
- Oil - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- In a bowl add chicken pieces, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, 1 teaspoon (tsp.) ginger garlic paste, yogurt (curd) mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In a pan heat oil. Add cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf and sauté. Now add rest of the ginger garlic paste and sautae until the raw smell is gone.
- Now add chopped onion and sauté until they become translucent (golden brown).
- Now add the marinated chicken pieces, salt and chili powder if you need more and mix well. Place a lid and cook this in simmer heat by time to time stirring so they don't stick to bottom.
- Once the chicken is half cooked add the chopped tomato and mix will. Place the cover and continue cooking until the chicken is cooked and oil starts to separate.
NOTES:
- Goes well with white rice and rasam.
