INGREDIENTS:

  1. Chicken pieces - 1/2 kilogram
  2. Chopped onion - 2
  3. Chopped tomato - 2
  4. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Yogurt (curd) - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Cinnamon stick - 1 small piece
  9. Clove - 1
  10. Bay leaf - 1
  11. Oil - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
  12. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. In a bowl add chicken pieces, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, 1 teaspoon (tsp.) ginger garlic paste, yogurt (curd) mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a pan heat oil. Add cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf and sauté. Now add rest of the ginger garlic paste and sautae until the raw smell is gone.
  3. Now add chopped onion and sauté until they become translucent (golden brown).
  4. Now add the marinated chicken pieces, salt and chili powder if you need more and mix well. Place a lid and cook this in simmer heat by time to time stirring so they don't stick to bottom.
  5. Once the chicken is half cooked add the chopped tomato and mix will. Place the cover and continue cooking until the chicken is cooked and oil starts to separate.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with white rice and rasam.
