INGREDIENTS:
- Murungakkai (Drumstick) - 2
- Onion - 2
- Curry leaves (optional) - 5
- Green chili - 2
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Uluttam paruppu (Split black gram) - 1/4 table poon (tbsp)
- Cumin seed - 1/4 tablespoon (tbsp)
- Kadalai paruppu (split bengal gram ) - 1/4 tablespoon (tbsp)
- Tomatoes - 4
- Salt - to taste
- Sambar powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Fresh shredded coconut - 4 teaspoon (tsp)
- Oil - 3 tablespoon (tbsp)
PREPARATION:
- Cut drum stick into 3 to 4 inch size. Boil and cook them with little water.
- Cut onion, tomatoes, green chili and garlic into fine pieces.
- Heat a pan with oil. Add mustard seed, spilt black gram cumin seed, split bengal gram until the mustard seed splatter.
- Now add the curry leaves cook for 30 sec, now add the cut onion and cooking until it turns golden brown.
- Now add the garlic and cook for 1 min.
- Now add the tomatoes and cooking until oil separates.
- Now add the cooked drum stick (with the left over water), sambar powder and salt to taste.
- Simmer, stir and cook until all the water evaporated.
- Now add the coconut mix well and serve.
NOTES:
- Good to eat with rasam.
