INGREDIENTS:
- Chick pea - 1 cup
- Yogurt - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
- -- Tempered, fried and to grounded --- Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch
- Clove - 1
- Cardamom - 1
- Chopped Onion - 2
- Chopped Tomato - 2 big
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Garlic - 2 clove
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
 
- Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.) or as needed
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- Soak chick pea overnight in water and cook them by adding salt to taste.
- Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon stick, clove, cardamom and sauté for few seconds.
- Now add the onion sauté them until they turn translucent (golden brown).
- Now add the tomato and sauté until they become mushy.
- Now add the ginger, garlic and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
- Now add chili powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and sauté for 2 minute.
- Now cool the sautéed masala and grind them into a fine thick paste.
- In pan add the ground masala paste, cooked chick pea, little water and bring to boil.
- Now add the yogurt and continue cooking the chana masala reached the right thickness (like korma thickness) and serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well with chapati
