INGREDIENTS:
- Indian Brinjal - 4
- Black gram - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Dry chili - 6
- Asafoetida powder - a pinch
- Tamarind - small gooseberry size
- Oil - 8 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- Chop brinjal into small pieces and roast them until oil separates in 4 tablespoon (tbsp.) oil.
- Heat remaining oil in a pan, now add black gram and roast until it turns light brown. Now add asafoetida powder, dry chili and roast for 2 minutes and let it cool down.
- Grind roasted ingredients, salt, tamarind into thuvaiyal by adding water as needed and serve.
