INGREDIENTS:
- Cooked rice – 3 to 4 cups.
- Ground to paste or cut ripe tomatoes – 1/4 kilo gram
- Finely chopped Onion – 200 grams
- Finely chopped green chili – 3
- Chili powder – 2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Coriander powder – teaspoon (tsp)
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Cloves – 3
- Cinnamon stick – 1 inch broken into fine pieces
- Cardamom – 2 crushed
- Oil – 2 table spoon
- Cilantro or coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
- Curry leaves (optional) - 5
- Salt - to taste
PREPARATION:
- Add salt to rice to mix well.
- Heat oil in pan add cloves , cinnamon stick, cardamom for a minute, now add the onions and cook until it turn light golden brown.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell is gone and oil separates.
- Add chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and cook for 2 to min.
- Add the tomato puree or cut tomatoes and cook until oil is separated.
- Garnish with Cilantro or coriander leaves.
- Remove from fire and let it cool. once cooled down mix with rice and serve.
NOTES:
- Trick is to make make the sauce to right consistency so its dry when you mix with rice.
