INGREDIENTS:
- -- In the night --
- Left over rice - 2 cup
- Thick tamarind juice - 1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Salt - as needed.
- -- Next day morning--
- Split bengal gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Finely chopped onion - 1
- Chopped garlic - 5 cloves.
- Dry chili or chopped green chili - 3
- Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Curry leaf - 8
- Oil - as needed
PREPARATION:
- A day before the preparation mix all the ingredients under section "In the night" and keep it overnight.
- In the morning. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, bengal gram, dry chili or green chili once the mustard stop splattering add garlic and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
- Now add onion and sauté until they become translucent (golden brown).
- Now add the rice, salt as needed and mix well. Now cook this until the raw smell is gone and serve.
NOTES:
- Good side dish for this rice is roasted potato.
