INGREDIENTS:
- Rice - 1/2 kilogram (2 1/2 cup)
- Water - 5 cup
- Thinly sliced onion - 3
- Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Lemon - 1/2
- Cashew - 5
- -- Grind to paste --
- Tomato - 1
- Green chili - 2
- Mint leaves - from 1 bunch
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Garlic - 10 cloves
- Cashew - 5
- Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
- Fennel seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Clove - 3
- Cardamom - 2
- Oil - 4 teaspoon (tbsp.)
- Salt - as needed.
PREPARATION:
- Grind all the ingredients (tomato, green chili, mint leaves, ginger, garlic, cashew, cinnamon stick, fennel seeds, cloves, cardamom) under the section "Grind to paste" into a fine paste by adding little water as possible.
- Soak rice for 20 minutes in water by squeezing the lemon juice. Filter water and keep the rice aside.s
- Heat oil in pressure cooker, add onion and cook until it turns golden brown.
- Now add garam masala powder, ground paste, salt to taste and cook until oil separates.
- Now add the soaked rice, water (Ratio: 2 cup of water for 1 cup of rice) and pressure cook for 3 whistle.
- Once the pressure is released, add roasted cashew in ghee mix well and serve.
