INGREDIENTS:
- Basmati rice - 3 cup
- Green gram - 1 cup
- Coconut milk - 3 cup
- Thinly sliced onion - 2
- Ginger paste - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Garlic paste - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Finely chopped tomato - 1
- Finely chopped coriander leaf - from 1/2 bunch.
- Finely chopped mint leaf - from 1/4 bunch
- Sliced into 2 green chili - 6
- Cinnamon stick - 2 inch
- Cardamom - 2
- Cloves - 5
- Bay leaf - 1
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
PREPARATION:
- Soak basmati rice and green gram for 1/2 an hour. Drain the water and keep it aside.
- In pressure cooker heat oil; add cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, onion and sauté until onion turns golden brown.
- Now add ginger, garlic paste and sauté until raw smell is gone.
- Now add tomato, green chili and sauté until oil separates.
- Now add the coconut milk and bring to boil.
- Now add soaked rice, green gram, salt to taste, 2.5 to 3 cups of water and bring to boil.
- Now add coriander leaves, mint leaves.
- Place the lid simmer and cook until 2 whistle. Remove from heat; once the pressure is released. Serve the rice.
