INGREDIENTS:

  1. Cooked rice - 3 cup
  2. Chopped tomato - 3 cup
  3. Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon (tsp.) Or as needed
  4. Curry leaf - 10 count
  5. Coriander leaf - little
  6. Slit Green chili - 5
  7. Dry chili - 5
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Asafoetida powder - 2 pinch
  10. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Cumin seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  12. Split Bengal gram - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  13. Split black gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  14. Roasted peanut - 10 to 20 count.
  15. Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  16. Salt - as needed.

PREPARATION:

  1. In a pan heat oil. Now add mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Once the mustard seeds stop splattering add Bengal gram, black gram, peanut and roast them.
  2. Now add curry leaves, dry chili, green chili and sauté.
  3. Now add tomato, turmeric powder, asafoetida powder, salt and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes or until the tomato sautéed well.
  4. Now add the lemon juice and switch off the heat.
  5. Now add cooked rice and mix well until the rice is well coated.

NOTES:

  1. Cooking time: 5 minutes
  2. Goes well with chips, varuval.
