INGREDIENTS:
- Taro root (seppankilangu) - ½ kilogram
- Chili powder - ½ tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Tamarind - big gooseberry size
- Salt - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Oil - ¼ cup
- Mustard seed - ¼ teaspoon (tsp.)
PREPARATION:
- Soak tamarind in ¼ of a cup for 20 minutes and make a thick juice.
- Cook the taro root by submerge in water and cook fro 20 minutes or until its cooked.
- De-skin the taro root and cut into 2 pieces.
- In a pan heat oil, add mustard seed once the mustard seed stop splattering add the taro and sauté for 3 minutes
- Now add the tamarind juice, salt, chili powder. Sauté until the oil is separated and the taro is roasted well.
- Remove from stove or heat and serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well with rice.
