INGREDIENTS:
- Baby potato - 1/4 kilogram
- Chopped onion - 2
- Split bengal gram - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Split black gram - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Asafoetida powder - a pinch
- Curry leaf - little
- Oil - as needed
- Salt - as needed

- -- For making chettinad masala powder --
- --------------------------------------------------
- Black gram - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Dry chili - 5
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
PREPARATION:
- Boil the baby potatoes and remove the skin.
- In a pan dry roast the ingredients under the section "-- For making chettinad masala powder -- " and grind to a powder
- In pan heat oil. add split bengal gram, split black gram, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida powder and sauté until the mustard seeds stop splattering. add onion, curry leaves and sauté until onion turns translucent (golden brown).
- Now add boiled potato, salt, chettinad masala powder (from Step 2) and fry until the potato is well coated with masala and then serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well rasam rice.
- Kids will like to eat them like snacks.
