Avarakkai peanut poriyal recipe

Avarakkai (flat bean) poriyal recipe goes well with rice, sambar, chapatti. This recipe is village style cooked with peanut instead of coconut.

INGREDIENTS:
- Chopped Avarakkai (flat bean) - 1/4 kilogram
- Roasted Peanut - 1/2 cup (with skin or blanched)
- Chopped onion - 1
- Chopped tomato - 1
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Curry leaf - 5 count
- Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
PREPARATION:
- Coarsely grind the peanut and keep it aside.
- In pan heat oil add mustard seeds, curry leaves and sauté until the mustard seeds stop splattering
- Now add onion and sauté until they become translucent.
- Now add tomato, avarakkai (flat bean) and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, chili powder, salt and mix well.
- Cover with lid and cook in low heat until the avarakkai (flat bean) is cooked. NOTE: Sprinkle water if needed to avoid burning.
- Now add the grounded pea nut and mix well. Remove from heat and serve.
NOTES:
- Cooking Time:: 20 minutes
