INGREDIENTS:
- Unsalted Seaweed - 1 cup
- Milk - 200 milliliter
- Sugar - as needed
- Chopped nuts (cashew, almond, ..) - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Ghee - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Saffron - a pinch
PREPARATION:
- Cook the seaweed by adding 2 cups of water in microwave for 2 minutes. NOTE: you can cook over stove a well. Cool the cooked seaweed down. Now break them into small pieces.
- Boil the milk well by adding cardamom powder, saffron. Now add the cooked seaweed, sugar and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes and remove from heat (stove).
- Roast the nuts in ghee and add to the payasam and serve.
NOTES:
- Instead of seaweed you can use edible jelly seeds (நுங்கு) of palmyra palm
