INGREDIENTS:

  1. Goat or lamb meat - 1/4 kilogram
  2. Sliced Onion - 1
  3. Chopped Tomato - 1
  4. Slit Green chili - 4
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Black pepper powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Cumin seed powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Fennel seed powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Cashew - 15
  11. Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
  12. Clove - 3
  13. Cardamom - 2
  14. Chopped Mint leaf - 10 leaves or from 1 stalk (stem)
  15. Chopped Coriander leaf - 20 leaves or from 2 stalk (stem)
  16. Oil - for tempering.
  17. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak the cashew and grind into a fine paste by adding little bit of water.
  2. In a pressure cooker add goat or lamb meat, 1 teaspoon (tsp.) of ginger garlic paste, black pepper powder, cumin seed powder, turmeric powder, fennel seed powder, tomato, green chili, salt and pressure cook for 5 to 6 whistle remove from stove and wait until the pressure is gone.
  3. Now place the pressure cooker in a stove (heat), add the ground cashew paste and bring to boil.
  4. In the mean time heat a pan add 2 tablespoon (tbsp.) of oil, add the cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom and sauté for 1 minute.
  5. Now add the onion and sauté until it turns truculent (golden brown).
  6. Now add rest of ginger garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell is gone. Now add the mint leaves, coriander leaves and sauté until they are sautéed.
  7. Now add this to the boiling soup.  Boil the soup for couple more of times and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Mutton soup is good for you health if you use goat or lamb bones even better. Try to cook this soup with rib meat or neck meat.
