INGREDIENTS:
- Gram flour - 1 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Baking powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Ghee - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Cashew - 10
- Cardamom - 6
- Raisins - 10
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Oil - 1/2 liter for deep frying.
PREPARATION:
- Mix gram flour, baking powder, water and make batter (dosai batter consistency)
- In a pan add 1/2 cup water, sugar and boil it reaches one string consistency. (refer to image below).
- -- Making boondi --
- Heat oil to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
- Hold the boondi ladle (refer to image below) and pour some batter and tap the ladle slightly. Dripping will fall into the oil.
- Fry it for a while, no need to get crispy
- Drain it in a paper towel to get rid of excess oil.
- Once you have made Boondi with all the batter.
- Fry the cashews, crushed cardamom, raising in ghee and add to the boondi.
- Now add the boondi to the sugar syrup and let it soak 10 -15 minutes.
- Now get a handful of boondi and roll it to a balls (laddu) and serve.
NOTES:
- Check for single string consistency
