INGREDIENTS:
- Drumstick - 3
- Dry chili - 1
- Shredded coconut - 1/4 cup
- Split green gram - 50 grams
- Split black gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Asafoetida powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Dalda - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- Chop drumstick into 1 inch size. Break the dry chili into pieces.
- Grind the coconut by adding little water as possible.
- Cook the split green gram, drumstick by adding a cup of water in a idly cooker or just boiling them. Separate the cooked drumstick and keep it aside.
- In a pan cook the split green gram by adding asafoetida powder and bring to boil.
- Now add the cooked drumstick, ground coconut and continue boiling for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from stove and keep it aside.
- In a separate pan heat dalda, add split black gram, broken dry chili, cumin seeds. Once the cumin seeds stop splattering add this to the drumstick koottu and serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well with rice
