INGREDIENTS:
- Onion - 1
- Tomatoes - 1
- Mustard Seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
- Split black gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
- Shredded Coconut - 1 tablespoon (tbsp)
- Sesame Oil or Nalla Ennai - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Hot chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
- Asafoetida powder - a pinch
- Salt - to taste
- Curry leaves (optional) - 10
PREPARATION:
- Cut onion, tomatoes into fine pieces.
- Heat 1 table spoon oil in a pan, add 1/2 table spoon mustard seed, Split black gram and cook until the mustard seed splatter.
- Now add the cut onion, tomatoes, coconut. Stir and cook until the tomatoes and onions are cooked.
- Now add hot chili powder, Asafoetida . Stir and cook for 2-3 min remove from heat.
- Grind this mixture into a fine paste.
- Heat rest of the oil in the pan, add the rest of the mustard seed, curry leaves and cook until the mustard seed splatter.
- Now pour this over the fine paste or chutney and serve.
