INGREDIENTS:
- Chopped Onion - 1
- Chopped Tomato - 1
- Garlic clove - 4
- Dry chili - 5
- Chopped Ginger - small piece
- Curry leaf - 1 sprig
- Mint leaf - little
- Coriander leaf - little
- Tamarind - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Fresh grated coconut - 1/4 cup
- Oil - as needed
- Salt - as needed

- -- For tempering --
- -----------------------
- Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Split black gram - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Oil - as needed
PREPARATION:
- Heat little oil in a pan. add one by one the ingredients listed in order and sauté. Ingredients order to add is dry chili first then onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves, mint leaves, tamarind. Finally add the grated coconut and sauté for 5 minutes. Cool this to room temperature and grind to thick fine paste by adding water if needed.
- In pan heat oil. add mustard seeds, black gram once the mustard seeds stop splattering add the ground chutney. Mix well and serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well with idli and dosai.
- Chutney can be prepared in 15 minutes.
