INGREDIENTS:
- Split Bengal gram - 1 cup
- onion - 1
- dry chili peppers - 3
- curry leaf - 5
- salt - for taste
PREPARATION:
- Dice onions into very small pieces. Chop the curry leaves into small pieces.
- Soak Split Bengal gram in 2-3 cups of water for 3 hours and remove the water from the dal.
- In blender or a wet grinder grind 1/2 of the soaked Split Bengal gram and dry chili peppers until it becomes a fine coarse. Add water if necessary. NOTE: add little water as possible
- Now grind the other 1/2 of the Split Bengal gram in the blender as medium coarse.
- Mix the Split Bengal gram together (fine and medium coarse). Now add the onion, curry leaves and mix well.
- In a deep frying pan, heat oil. Once the oil is hot and ready.
- Take some Split Bengal gram mix, make as small ball (a small lemon size). Now flatten it and deep fry it
NOTES:
- You can make the ball in advance and flat and drop it oil to cook
- Preparation Time: 15 - 20 min. Once the dal is soaked.
