INGREDIENTS:
- Pigeon pea - 100 grams
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Asafoetida powder - a pinch
- Chopped onion - 2
- Chopped onion - 2
- Garlic clove - 5 count
- Slit green chili - 2
- Curry leaf - 5 count
- Mustard seed - little
- Cumin seed - 1/2 teaspoon.
- Oil - as needed
- Salt - as needed.
PREPARATION:
- In a pressure cooker add pigeon pea, turmeric powder, coriander powder, asafoetida powder, chopped tomato, chopped onion, slit green chili, cumin seeds, salt as needed, 2 tumbler water and pressure Cook this for couple of whistle so that we can mash them well. remove from heat and when the pressure is released mash them with masher.
- In a pan heat oil add mustard seeds, garlic cloves, curry leaf and sauté until the mustard seeds stop splattering and garlic turns golden brown.
- Now add this to mashed pigeon pea. Mix well and serve with idly.
