Kalkandu pongal (sugar candy pongal) is a creamy and delicious dessert prepared with ease. Let see how to cook it.

INGREDIENTS:
- Raw rice - 1 cup
- Kalkandu (Rock candy crystal) - 1 cup
- Ghee - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Milk - 3 cup
- Cashew nut - 10 count
- Raisin - 10 count
PREPARATION:
- Powder the Kalkandu in blender or mixer.
- In a pressure cooker add milk, 1 tumbler of water and bring to boil. Now add rice, pinch of salt and pressure cook this for 3 whistle.
- Once the pressure is released add the Kalkandu powder and cook in simmer by stirring until the Kalkandu is fully dissolved.
- In a pan melt ghee and roast the cashew, raisins to golden brown and add to the Kalkandu pongal. Mix well and serve.
NOTES:
- Preparation time: 5 minutes, Cooking Time: 20 Minutes, Total time: 25 minutes
