INGREDIENTS:

  1. Mutton (goat or lamb meat) - 1/2 kilogram
  2. Thinly sliced onion - 2
  3. Thinly sliced tomato - 1
  4. Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Mutton masala powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. -- Dry roast and powdered --
    1. Coriander seed - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
    2. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Black pepper - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    4. Dry chili - 5
  8. Oil - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Dry roast the ingredients under the section "-- Dry roast and powdered --" without burning them in low heat for 5 minutes.
  2. In a pan heat oil. add onion and sauté until they turn translucent (golden brown).
  3. Now add ginger, garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
  4. Now add tomato and sauté until they turn mushy.
  5. Now add mutton masala powder, ground powder and sauté well.
  6. Now add 3 cups of water or more if needed, salt and cook the mutton. Once the mutton is cooked and curry reaches the right thickness your preference remove from heat and serve.

NOTES:

  1. You can cook chicken the same way.
