INGREDIENTS:

  1. ------------------------
  2. --- For Kofta ---

  4. Ground or Minced meat - 250 grams
  5. Chili powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Coriander powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Green chili - 3
  8. Ginger - 1 inch size piece
  9. Garlic - 10 cloves
  10. Coriander leaf - from 1 bunch
  11. Clove - 5
  12. Cardamom - 3
  13. Cinnamon stick - a small piece
  14. Roasted gram flour - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  15. Cashew nut - 10
  16. Salt - as needed
  17. Oil - to deep fry
  18. --------------------------------
  19. -- For Gravy ---
  20. -------------------------------
  21. Onion - 5
  22. Tomato - 8
  23. Chili powder - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  24. Cashew nut + almond - 50 grams
  25. Poppy seed - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  26. Clove - 2
  27. Cardamom - 2
  28. Coriander leaf - for garnishing
  29. Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)\
  30. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. ------------------------
  2. --- Making Kofta ---
  3. ------------------------
  4. Grind ginger, garlic, clove, cardamom, coriander leaves, chili powder, coriander powder, salt and grind to a thick paste by adding water a needed.
  5. Grind cashew nuts, green chili to fine thick paste by adding water as needed.
  6. In a bowl add meat, paste in step 4 (ginger, garlic ... paste) and 5 (Cashew nut,.. paste) and mix well.
  7. Now add the roasted gram flour. Mix well and equal size meat balls.
  8. Deep fry the meat balls in medium heat until they are cooked to golden brown. keep them aside.

  10. --- Making Kofta Gravy ---

  12. Grind onion, tomato into to fine paste without adding any water.
  13. Soak the almond in water and remove the skin.
  14. Grind almonds, cashew nuts, poppy seeds into a fine thick paste by adding water as needed.
  15. In heavy bottom pan heat oil. add clove, cardamom and sauté until aroma is released. Now add ground onion tomato paste, chili powder and cook until oil separates.
  16. Now add 2 cup of water and bring to boil.
  17. Now add the deep fried kofta (meat balls) and cook for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes Taste for salt and add salt if needed.
  18. Now add the almond cashew paste, mix well and remove from heat. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Make sure the balls of same size and cook them in medium heat. Usually the float in oil when cooked.
