INGREDIENTS:
- Goat or lamb meat - 1 kilogram
- 1 Inch cubed Potatoes - 1/4 kilogram
- Finely chopped onion - 1/2 kilogram
- Finely chopped tomato - 1/2 kilogram
- Finely chopped green chili - 8
- Chili powder - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Ginger paste - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Garlic paste - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
- Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
- -- To Grind to paste --
- Freshly shredded coconut - 4 tablespoon (tsp.)
- Cashew - 25 grams
- Poppy seed - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Yogurt or Curd - 1/4 cup
- Ghee - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Lemon - 1
- Cinnamon stick - 2 inch
- Clove - 4
- Cardamom - 4
- Oil - 4 teaspoon (tsp.) or as needed
- Salt - to taste
PREPARATION:
- Grind coconut, cashews, poppy seeds into a fine paste by adding as little water as possible.
- In a pressure cooker heat up oil and ghee. Add cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves and let them splatter.
- Now add the onion and cook until it turns golden brown.
- Now add the ginger and garlic paste and cook until oil separates.
- Now add 3/4 of the coriander leaves and mint leaves and cook for 1 - 2 minutes.
- Now add tomatoes and green chili and cook until oil separates.
- Now add chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Cook for 4 -5 minutes then add yogurt and the goat or lamb meat.
- Simmer, mix well and cook until goat or lamb meat releases some water. say 5 minutes
- Now squeeze the lemon juice, add the potatoes, add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 5 whistle. Remove from heat and keep until the pressure is gone. Remove the lid.
- Move the cooker to the flame. Now add the ground coconut paste and bring to boil. Cook until the raw smell is gone. Remove the salna from the stove.
- Now add the remaining coriander leaves and mint leaf mix well and serve.
NOTES:
- You can cook this in a pan instead of pressure cooker.
- Good to eat with paratha.
