INGREDIENTS:

  1. Goat or lamb meat - 1 kilogram
  2. 1 Inch cubed Potatoes - 1/4 kilogram
  3. Finely chopped onion - 1/2 kilogram
  4. Finely chopped tomato - 1/2 kilogram
  5. Finely chopped green chili - 8
  6. Chili powder - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Coriander powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Ginger paste - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Garlic paste - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
  12. Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
  13. -- To Grind to paste --
    1. Freshly shredded coconut - 4 tablespoon (tsp.)
    2. Cashew - 25 grams
    3. Poppy seed - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  14. Yogurt or Curd - 1/4 cup
  15. Ghee - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  16. Lemon - 1
  17. Cinnamon stick - 2 inch
  18. Clove - 4
  19. Cardamom - 4
  20. Oil - 4 teaspoon (tsp.) or as needed
  21. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Grind coconut, cashews, poppy seeds into a fine paste by adding as little water as possible.
  2. In a pressure cooker heat up oil and ghee. Add cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves and let them splatter.
  3. Now add the onion and cook until it turns golden brown.
  4. Now add the ginger and garlic paste and cook until oil separates.
  5. Now add 3/4 of the coriander leaves and mint leaves and cook for 1 - 2 minutes.
  6. Now add tomatoes and green chili and cook until oil separates.
  7. Now add chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Cook for 4 -5 minutes then add yogurt and the goat or lamb meat.
  8. Simmer, mix well  and cook until goat or lamb meat releases some water. say 5 minutes
  9. Now squeeze the lemon juice, add the potatoes, add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 5 whistle. Remove from heat and keep until the pressure is gone. Remove the lid.
  10. Move the cooker to the flame. Now add the ground coconut paste and bring to boil. Cook until the raw smell is gone. Remove the salna from the stove.
  11. Now add the remaining coriander leaves and mint leaf mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. You can cook this in a pan instead of pressure cooker.
  2. Good to eat with paratha.
