INGREDIENTS:
- Rice flour - 8 cup
- Sour butter milk - 1 cup
- Pearl sago (javvarisi) - 2 cup
- Green chili - 25
- Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Asafoetida powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Dalda - 100 grams
- Oil - 1 cup
PREPARATION:
- Soak pearl sago in butter milk for 4 hours and grind in to coarse batter.
- Grind green chili into a paste. Melt Dalda and keep it aside.
- In a pan heat 1 tablespoon (tbsp.) of oil, add mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds stop splattering remove from stove and keep it aside.
- Mix rice flour, pearl sago batter, green chili paste, tempered mustard seeds, dalda, salt as needed, 1/4 cup of water into a murukku dough.
- Heat oil in a deep pan. Make murukku with murukku press (refer below) and deep fry them.
