INGREDIENTS:

  1. Raw rice - 1 kilogram
  2. Sugar - 300 grams
  3. Egg - 3
  4. Coconut - 1 whole
  5. Oil - to deep fry.

PREPARATION:

  1. Shred the coconut and get thick coconut milk.
  2. Soak raw rice in water. Filter the water and dry this a tower until all moisture is gone. Grind this to a powder (don't add any water.
  3. In a bowl break the egg and beat well. Now add coconut milk, sugar and beat well.
  4. Now add the rice powder little by little and string until you get a batter (consistent to dosai batter) NOTE: if the batter is too thick the murukku will be hard.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. dip the murukku achu to get heated. Dip this in batter 3/4th and drop it oil. Deep fry them until golden brown and serve. NOTE: if you dip the achu fully murukku will be hard to drop in oil.

NOTES:

  1. Caution making them need some practice especially dipping in batter and dropping in oil.
  2. Cook in batches so the oil is not cooled down and murukku is crowded.
