INGREDIENTS:
- Green peas - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 2
- Tomato - 3
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- -- Dry roast and grind to powder --
- Black pepper - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Cumin seed - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Fennel seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Oil - for tempering.
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- In a pan add green peas, salt and cook them.
- Cut onion and tomato into small pieces.
- Dry roast the ingredients under the section "-- Dry roast and grind to powder --" in pan until they change color and grind to a powder.
- In pan heat oil, add onion and sauté until they turn translucent (golden brown).
- Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté for couple of minutes.
- Now add the tomato and sauté until they turn mushy.
- Now add cooked green peas, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt to taste and sauté until the raw smell is gone. NOTE: if you need water add as needed.
- Cook the kurma until it boils. Now add the ground roasted powder and cook for another 5 minutes and serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well with chapati
