INGREDIENTS:
- Water - 2 cups
- Rava - 3 cups
- Yogurt - 3 cups
- Split black gram - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Split Bengal gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
- Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
- Curry leaves - few
- Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp)
PREPARATION:
- Heat oil in a pan when its hot Now add split black gram, split bengal gram, mustard seeds and curry leaves. (you will hear spatter sound)
- Add the above to the rava with the yogurt, salt mix them and leave it for 25 minutes,then add 2 cups of water.
- Then beat the flour and make sure it is in idli(idly) batter consistency
- Spoon batter onto an idli(idly) stand.
- Heat water in idli(idly) cooker, and place stand in.
- Steam for 5-7 minutes.
- Insert a clean matchstick (back end) or a skewer. The skewer should come out clean if the idli’s are done.
NOTES:
- Takes 1-2 hour for the whole preparation
