INGREDIENTS:
- Idli(idly) dough - 4 cup
- Onions - 2
- Chili peppers powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Tomatoes - 3
- Oil (olive or peanut) - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Split black gram - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Curry leaves - 10
- Coriander leaves - 12
- water - 1 cup
- Salt - for taste
- Garlic and ginger paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
PREPARATION:
- Stream and make small idli(idly) with the dough.
- Cut tomatoes, onions into small pieces.
- Chop coriander leaves.
- Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seed, fennel seeds, split black gram. NOTE: Wait till mustard pops and splatter.
- Now add the cut onions and tomatoes and mix until well cooked. (i.e) oil separate.
- Add ginger and garlic paste.
- Add the chili peppers powder and stir for 10 min.
- Now add a cup of water, salt to taste and boil until it becomes thick.
- When the curry is thick add the idli(idly) and mix for 5 min.
- Finally add the coriander leaves and stop cooking.
NOTES:
- Preparation Time: 15 min if you have the idli(idly) ready.
