INGREDIENTS:
- Sheela or king mackerel fish curry - 4 small
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Hot chili powder - 5 teaspoon (tsp)
- Shredded coconut - 1/2 cup
- Shallots - 100 grams
- Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
- Curry leaves (optional) - 10
- Tamarind - 1 big lemon size
- Salt - to taste
- Tomatoes - 1
- Hot green chili - 2
PREPARATION:
- Split green chili into 2. Cut tomatoes into small pieces.
- Keep 10 shallots aside, in a blender grind coconut and the remaining shallots into a paste.
- Cut the kept aside onion into small pieces.
- Make thick tamarind a cup juice. Now add split green chilies, turmeric powder and the coconut paste to it and mix well.
- In a pan heat oil, add mustard and cook until they splatter. Now add the cut shallots and cook until they turn golden brown.
- Now add the tamarind mixture and cook for 5 - 8 min. Now add the cut tomatoes and cook until oil separates then add 1/2 cup water if needed and cook until raw smell is gone.
- Now add the fish and cook for 10 min or until the curry come to a gravy consistency. Now the curry is ready to be served.
