INGREDIENTS:
- Nethili meen (anchovy fish) - 1/4 kilogram
- Chopped Onion - 1
- Chopped Tomato - 1
- Thick coconut milk - 1 cup
- Chopped Green chili - 3
- Curry leaves - 5
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Fennel seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Lemon - 1/2
- Salt - to taste.
PREPARATION:
- Clean the Nethili meen (anchovy fish).
- Add salt, turmeric powder to the fish and marinate it.
- In a pan heat oil. add fennel seed, mustard seed, curry leaves once the mustard seed stopped splatter add onion, green chili, tomato and cook until the onion turns golden brown.
- Now add fish, black pepper and stir the fish (don't break the fish), simmer and cook for 10 minutes until the fish is cooked
- Now add the coconut milk and bring to boil and serve.
NOTES:
- Good to go with rice, iddiyappam.
