INGREDIENTS:
- Fish (Mackerel) - 4
- Tomato - 5
- Onion - 5
- Garlic - 10 cloves
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Dry chili - 5
- Chili powder - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Coconut milk - 1/4 cup
- Lemon - 1/2
- Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Oil - 1/4 cup
PREPARATION:
- Clean and cut the fish into two pieces. (vary based on the size)
- Add turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon (tsp.) of salt, chili powder to the fish and marinate it for 10 minutes.
- Grind dry chili, 2 tomato, garlic, 2 onion into a fine thick paste by adding little water as needed.
- Thinly Slice the rest of the onion. Cut the rest of the tomatoes into big pieces.
- In a pan heat oil and fry the marinated fish and keep it aside. In the same pan add more oil if needed and sauté the onion until it turns golden brown.
- Now add the ground paste and cook for 3 minutes.
- Now add the tomato and cook until oil separates.
- Now add the coconut milk, fried fish; cover, simmer and cook for 1 minute. After a minute add lemon juice from the 1/2 lemon.
- Then cover, simmer and cook for 3 minutes and serve without breaking the fish.
