INGREDIENTS:
- Dry fish - 100 grams
- Hot dry chili - 30 grams
- Coriander seed - 30 grams
- Black pepper - 5 grams
- Turmeric Powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
- Tamarind - 35 grams
- Fenugreek seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
- Onion - 1
- Curry leaves (optional) - 5 leaves
- Salt - to taste
PREPARATION:
- Clean and wash the dry fish.
- Soak tamarind in a cup of water for 10 minutes and make a thick juice. (squeeze and remove the fibers)
- Cut onions into to small pieces.
- Grind dry chili, black pepper, coriander seed.
- Now in a bowl mix the grounded (Grind dry chili, black pepper, coriander seed. ) and tamarind water. Add turmeric powder, salt as well.
- Heat oil in a pan, add fenugreek seed fry for minute, then add curry leaves and fry for a minute.
- Then add the tamarind juice mixture and when it reach boiling stage add the washed dry fish and cook for 20-30 min until the required consistency is reached.
NOTES:
- Instead of raw tamarind, 2 table spoon of paste can be used with cup of water
- You can also add vegetables like eggplant , drumstick, plantain and potatoes. Add them when the mixture boiling stage
