INGREDIENTS:
- Fish pieces - 8
- Tamarind - 1 lemon size
- Chili powder - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Onion - 4
- Slit green chili - 5
- Coriander leaf - 15
- Ginger paste - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Garlic paste - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- -- Grind to powder --
- Coriander seed - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Clove - 4
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- Grind onion into a paste by adding no water.
- Soak the tamarind in 1/2 cup of water for 20 minutes and take thick juice.
- Grind the ingredients under the section "- Grind to powder --" into a fine powder. NOTE: you can dry roast, cool them and grind too.
- Heat oil in a pan. Now add the grind onion, green chili and sauté it until they change translucent (golden brown).
- Now add ginger paste, garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
- Now add chili powder, turmeric powder, salt as needed and sauté until oil separates.
- Now add the tamarind juice, add water if needed and bring to boil. Cook this until oil starts to separates.
- Now add the fish, simmer and cook. Cook this until the fish is cooked and oil floats on the top of the curry.
NOTES:
- Don't boil and cook after you add fish. Fish will break down into pieces.
