INGREDIENTS:
- Chicken pieces - 1/2 kilogram
- Chopped Onion - 1/4 kilogram
- Chopped Tomato - 3
- Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Garlic paste - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Black pepper powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Fennel seed powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Chili powder - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.) + 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Salt - 2 teaspoon (tsp.) + 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Lemon - 1/2
PREPARATION:
- Grind 1/2 chopped onion, tomato into a fine paste.
- To the chicken pieces add turmeric powder, lemon juice from 1/2 lemon, salt. Mix well and marinate the chicken for 30 minutes. Now wash the chicken and drain all the liquid.
- In a pan heat oil. Now add the garam masala powder, onion, curry leaves and sauté until the onion turns translucent.
- Now add the chicken pieces and cook until they are sautéed.
- Now add the ginger and garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
- Now add the turmeric powder, black pepper powder, cumin seed powder, fennel seed powder, chili powder, salt to taste and sauté for a minute.
- Once the chicken pieces is well coated with masala. Add the ground onion tomato paste and bring to boil. cook this kuzhambu oil starts to separate and serve. NOTE: if you need more curry add water as needed say about 1 cup.
