INGREDIENTS:
- Chicken - 1/2 kilogram
- Thinly sliced onion - 4
- Chopped tomato - 4
- Chili powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cinnamon stick - 2 pieces
- Clove - 3
- Chopped coriander leaf - 20
- -- For making powder --
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Fennel seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander seed - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cinnamon stick - 4 inch
- Cardamom - 3
- Salt - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
PREPARATION:
- Dry roast all the ingredients under the section " For making powder" and grind into a fine powder. NOTE: roast the first coriander seed for 2 minutes and then add rest of the ingredients and roast them.
- Marinate 30 minutes chicken by adding 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.) ginger paste, 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.) garlic paste, 1 teaspoon (tsp.) chili powder, 1/4 turmeric powder and salt to taste.
- Heat 1/4 cup of oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken and keep it aside.
- In the same oil you fried the chicken; add onion and fry until it turns golden brown.
- Now add chili powder, turmeric powder, rest of the ginger paste, garlic paste and sauté until raw smell is gone.
- Now add the tomato and cook until oil separates.
- Now add the fried chicken; mix well and cook. Then add the ground roasted powder and mix well.
- Now add the coriander leaves, 1/4 cup of water, salt to taste and bring to boil. Cook until the raw smell is gone and serve. (takes about 7 - 10 minutes)
