INGREDIENTS:
- Green gram (mung bean) - 1 cujp
- Dry chili - 4
- Shredded coconut - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Cumin seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Curry leaf - 8
- Asafoetida powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Oil - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- Soak green gram in water for 8 hours then drain the water and keep it aside.
- In a pressure cooker add the soaked green gram, salt to taste. Submerge green gram with water. Pressure cook the gram for 4 minutes or for 1 whistle. Once the pressure release drain all the water from green gram and keep it aside.
- In a pan heat oil. Now add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry chili, curry leaves, asafoetida. Once the mustard seed stop splattering add coconut and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Now add the cooked green gram. sauté for 2 minutes and serve.
NOTES:
- You can do the same with split mung bean.
