INGREDIENTS:
- Yogurt - as needed (1 cup)
- Chopped shallot (sambar onion) - 100 grams
- Dry chili - 2
- Curry leaf - 8
- Salt - to taste
- -- grind to paste--
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Curry leaves - 8
- -- For Tempering --
- Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Black gram - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Oil - 4 tablespoon (tbsp.)
PREPARATION:
- Grind ingredients under grind to paste section i.e. ginger, garlic, black pepper , cumin seeds, curry leaves without adding any water.
- In pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, black gram, cumin seeds once the mustard seed stop splattering add shallot (sambar onion), curry leaves, broken dry chili and sauté for 2 - 3 of minutes. Cool it down and add to the yogurt.
- Now add salt, ground paste to yogurt mix well and serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well with dosai
