INGREDIENTS:
- Potato - 3
- Onion - 2
- Tomato - 4
- Dry Green pea - 1/4 cup
- -- For grinding to paste (batch 1)--
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Garlic - 6 cloves
- Chili powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Fennel seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- -- For grinding to paste (batch 2) --
- Coconut - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Roasted gram - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- -- For tempering --
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
- Curry leaf - 7
- Salt - to taste
PREPARATION:
- Clean and cut the potatoes into big pieces.
- Soak peas for 20 minutes, drain water and keep it aside.
- Finely chop onion, tomatoes.
- Grind coconut, roasted gram into fine paste by adding little water as possible.
- Grind ginger, garlic, chili powder, coriander powder, fennel seed into fine paste by adding little water as possible.
- In a pan heat oil, add cinnamon stick, curry leaves, onion and cook until onion turns golden brown.
- Now add tomato, soaked peas, potato, ground ginger .. paste, salt to taste. Sauté and cook until raw smell is gone.
- Now add ground coconut, a cup of water and bring to boil. Cook for 5 minutes and serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well with rice, bread.
