INGREDIENTS:
- Ripped mango - 1
- Tamarind - 1 small lemon size
- Chopped Shallot (sambar vengayam) - 1/2 cup
- Chili powder - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Finely chopped tomato - 4
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Curry leaf - 5
- -- Fry and grind to paste --
- Fenugreek seed - 1/2 tablespoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Rice - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Split bengal gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- -- For tempering --
- Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Fenugreek seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Curry leaf - 7
- Salt - to taste
PREPARATION:
- Cut mango into big pieces.
- Soak tamarind in 2 cup water, dissolve and get the juice. Add salt for taste, tomato, turmeric powder to tamarind juice.
- Dry fry 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.) fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, rice, split bengal gram and grind them in to fine powder.
- In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves and cook until the mustard seeds stop to splatter.
- Now add tamarind juice and mangoes and bring to boil and cook until right thickness is reached.
- Now add the ground powder cook for 5 minutes and serve.
