INGREDIENTS:
- Vanjaram (king mackerel) pieces - 1/2 kilogram
- Thick coconut milk - 2 cup
- Chopped onion - 1
- Chopped tomato - 2
- Chopped Garlic clove - from 1 garlic bulb
- Chopped Ginger - little piece
- Slit Green chili - 4
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coriander seed powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin seed powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Curry leaf - little
- Rock sea salt - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Coconut oil - as needed
PREPARATION:
- In pan heat oil. add mustard seeds. once they stop splattering add onion, garlic cloves, ginger, green chili, curry leaf and sauté until the onion turns translucent (golden brown).
- Now add tomato and sauté until they become mushy.
- Now add salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander seed powder, cumin seed powder, 1/2 cup of water and bring to boil and cook.
- Once the raw smell is gone add the fish pieces and cook.
- Once the fish is cooked add the coconut milk and bring to boil and serve.
NOTES:
- Goes well with white rice.
