INGREDIENTS:
- Finger millet (Ragi) flour - 1 cup
- Spit green gram - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Shredded coconut - 1/2 cup
- Shredded jaggery - 1/2 cup
- Cardamom - 3
- Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
PREPARATION:
- Dry roast the Ragi flour until it starts to smell.
- Dry roast the split green gram until they turn golden brown.
- In a pan add 1/4 cup of water, 2 teaspoon (tsp.) of oil and bring to boil NOTE: Make sure all the jaggery is dissolved. Now filter this in a coffee strainer.
- Heat the filtered jaggery until it becomes solid.
- Now add little flour at a time and mix until a thick dough is formed.
- Now add the shredded coconut, roasted green gram, crushed cardamom and mix well for 2 more minutes and remove the dough from stove.
- Now make small balls out of the dough when its warm.
- Steam these balls in idli pan for 10 minutes and serve.
NOTES:
- Healthy snack is ready.
