INGREDIENTS:
- Parboiled rice - 1 cup
- Fresh shredded coconut - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Salt water - as needed.
- Warm water - as needed
PREPARATION:
- -- Preparing the rice --
- Soak the rice in salt water for 10 minutes. Filter and keep it aside.
- Dry the rice under fan by spreading the rice on a clean piece of cloth. The rice should be slightly damp and not very dry.

- Now grind the rice in the mixer to powder neither very coarse nor very fine.
- Dry roast the powdered rice in the skillet or kadai for few min and keep it aside.
- In a bowl mix powdered rice, sugar, shredded coconut.
- Now sprinkle warm water and mix until the mixture reached a hard chapati dough consistency. refer image below
- Now take a handful and press hard (refer image below how the pressed kozhakkattai look). do the same with rest of the dough and serve.
