INGREDIENTS:
- Pigeon pea - 200 grams
- Chopped Onion - 1
- Tomato - 50 grams
- Chopped garlic - 2 clove
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Cumin powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Shredded Ginger - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
- Asafoetida powder - a pinch
- Oil - as needed
- Salt - as needed
PREPARATION:
- Pressure cook the pigeon pea, turmeric powder, asafoetida powder for 3 to 5 whistle.
- Release the pressure and cook for 5 minutes or until the dal it become thick consistency.
- In a separate pan heat oil. sauté onion, tomato until they are cooked 3/4th. Now add cumin powder, ginger, garlic and sauté them. Now add this, salt to dal.
NOTES:
- if you like to you can squeeze lemon juice as well.
