INGREDIENTS:

  1. Banana flower blossom - 1 cup
  2. Gram fllour - 1 cup
  3. Rice flour - 5 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Corn flour - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Turmeric powder - a pinch
  6. Asafoetida powder - a pinch
  7. Chili powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Oil - to deep fry.
  9. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  2. -- Cleaning the flower -
  3. ----------------------------
  4. From each blossom remove the plastic petal as its not edible.
  5. From each blossom remove the match stick like blossom stem as its bitter in taste.
  6. Now wash all the banana blossoms in water.
  7. From each blossom remove all the moisture with clean towel or tissue paper.

  11. In a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, corn flour, turmeric powder, asafoetida powder, chili powder, salt, water as needed and make thick batter (like we do for bajji) with out any lump.
  12. Heat oil to deep fry. Take each banana blossom one by one and in the batter and deep fry them in batches to golden brown and serve. NOTE: Make sure the blossoms are well coated.

NOTES:

  1. Kids and adult will love this heathy bsjji.
  2. Serve with chutney.
