INGREDIENTS:

  1. Chopped carrot, green bean, potato, green pea - 1 cup
  2. Chopped onion - 1 big
  3. Chopped tomato - 1 big
  4. Boiled milk - 1 cup
  5. Ghee - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Cinnamon stick, clove, cardamom, Nutmeg powder - little
  7. Salt - as needed
  8. Oil - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. ---------------------------------------------
  10. ---- Grind to paste -------
  11. ----------------------------------------------
  12. Coconut - 2 piece
  13. Poppy seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  14. Yogurt or curd - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  15. Ginger - 1 piece
  16. Garlic - 6 clove
  17. Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  18. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  19. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  20. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  21. Cashew nut - 10 counts

PREPARATION:

  1. Grind all the ingredients under section "---- Grind to paste -------" into fine paste by adding less water as possible.
  2. In a pressure cooker add 1/2 tumbler water, ghee, oil, Cinnamon stick, clove, cardamom, Nutmeg powder.
  3. Now spread onion, tomato.
  4. Now spread chopped vegetables ( carrot, green bean, potato, green pea ), 1/2 tumbler of water, salt as needed. NOTE: Never stir in any step.
  5. Now close the pressure cooker, place the whistle and cook for 2 whistle. Once the pressure is gone. open the lid and add milk and mix well
  6. Now kurma is ready to serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with chapati, puri, appam, iddiyappam.
