INGREDIENTS:

  1. Rava - 1 cup
  2. Maida flour - 1 cup
  3. Freshly shredded coconut - 1 cup
  4. Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
  5. Ghee - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Oil - for deep frying
  7. Salt - a pinch

PREPARATION:

  1. Dry roast the rava to light brown.
  2. In a bowl add maida flour, ghee, salt, water as needed and make soft dough like we do for chapatti.
  3. Now to the roasted rava add 1 1/2 cup of water and cook without lump. Once the rava is cooked add shredded coconut, sugar. mix well and remove from heat Cook this to room temperature.
  4. Make equal size balls from the maida dough. flatten them and place cooked rava as needed. Cover the rava from all side with the maida dough to form a pouch. Gently flatten the pouch to flat. Make sure you do not leak the rava filling.
  5. Heat oil for deep frying. add the flatten sojji in batches and fry them to golden brown and both sides and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Since sweet we can eat them without any side dish.
