Rava upma recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Rava - 2 cup
  2. Onion - 3
  3. Green chili - 13
  4. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  5. Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp)
  6. Ghee - 2 tablespoon (tbsp)
  7. Water - 5 cups
  8. Split bengal gram - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
  9. Cahews - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
  10. Curry leaves - 5

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut onions and green chili into small pieces.
  2. In a pan fry the rava until it turns light brown and keep it aside.
  3. In a pan heat ghee and oil when is hot enough add the split bengal gram, mustard seed and cook until mustard seed splatter.
  4. Now add the cut onions and green chili and cook until golden brown.
  5. Now add the water and bring to boil.  Now add the rava very slowly and stir. Add the cashews.
  6. Now reduce the heat and simmer until the rava is cooked.
