Bread upma recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Finely chopped tomatoes - 1
  2. Finely chopped ginger - 1/2 inch
  3. Finely chopped onion - 1
  4. Finely chopped green chili - 2
  5. Bread - 6 to 7
  6. Garam masala - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Oil - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Curry leaves - 3 to 4 (optional)
  11. Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  12. Split black gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  13. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut the bread into small pieces.
  2. In a pan heat oil add mustard seed, split black gram, curry leaves and cook until mustard seed splatter.
  3. Now add the onions and cook until it turns golden brown.
  4. Now add the green chilies and cook for 3 min.
  5. Now add the bread pieces and mix well. (careful bread will stick to pan if not mixed well)
  6. Now add garam masala, turmeric powder, chili powder and mix well cook for a min.
  7. Now add the tomatoes and salt to taste.
  8. Mix and cook for 5 to 8 min and serve.
