Kothamalli (coriander leaves) thuvaiyal recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Kothamalli (Coriander Leaf) - 1 cup or 1 1/2 cup [washed in water]
  2. Hot dry chili - 6
  3. Asafoetida - a pinch
  4. Tamarind - gooseberry (nellikai) size
  5. Curry leaves (optional) - 4
  6. Uluttam paruppu (split black gram) - 1 table spoon
  7. Oil - 4 table spoon
  8. Mustard seeds - 1/2 table spoon
  9. Garlic - 3 cloves
  10. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Heat a pan with 2 table spoon of oil, now add Asafoetida , Uluttam paruppu (split black gram), Kothamalli (Coriander Leaves) and cook for 2-4 min until the excess water evaporate from leaves.
  2. Grind the cooked leaves, tamarind, garlic and salt into a find thick paste.
  3. In a pan heat rest of oil add mustard seed, when it start to splatter add the curry leaves cook for 1 min.
  4. Now add the ground paste mix well for 1-2 min and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Good to go with biryani.
